 Die misshandelte, unterdrückte Seele stöhnt unter ihrer Last und schreit auf. Wenn von nirgendwo eine Antwort kommt, steigt ein einziger Schrei zum Himmel auf. Da hört der Herr— Er, der Himmel und Erde erfüllt, neigt sein Ohr mitten in die Finsternis und erinnert sich an einen zerbrochenen Namen. Er hat versprochen: Ich werde dich erretten. Ich werde gewiss retten. Vertraue, o Seele. Glaube ist das Greifen nach einer unsichtbaren Hand; vor dieser Hand weicht die Macht der Finsternis, und Ketten fallen lautlos ab. Wahrer Friede kommt in der Stille. Wahre Freiheit wohnt im Atem des Herrn. Er ist es, der diese Seele geformt und diesen Leib geschaffen hat— Er trägt Verantwortung. Er vollendet bis zum Ende. Jesus verlässt nicht, was er gemacht hat. Er heilt, was zerbrochen ist, entfacht neu, was erlischt, und führt den Unterdrückten in die Befreiung. Das ist das Evangelium. Das ist die Befreiung.
